More Insights From Your GMB Profile

Many customers find businesses on Google Search and Maps. Your GMB profile provides valuable insights on how customers find your business, what they do when they find it and much more. If you’re not taking advantage of your GMB profile then it’s time you do. Lets take a deeper dive into the benefits

How do customers find your Business Profile?

In this section of insights you’re able to see how many customers found you and how they found you. With the chart in the app you can see how customers found you in one of three ways; directly, discovery or branded. Direct searches are customers who directly searched for your business name or address. Discovery searches are customers who searched for a category, product or service you offer, and your listing appeared. Lastly, branded searches are searches for your brand or related to your brand.

Where do customers find you?

Here you’ll be able to see exactly where customers are finding you. Anything from a view on search, view on maps, desktop or mobile device. You’ll see it all right here.

What actions are being taken when your business is found?

This is an important insights your GMB Profile provides. This section will show you what actions were taken when customers viewed you listing. Whether they visited you website, requested directions, called you and again, if they were using a desktop or mobile phone.

Your Google My Business (GMB Profile) just got an upgrade

An improved Google My Business (GMB) report feature was recently introduced. This Feature allows you to easily check how people are finding your business. It even enables you to track what device and platform people are using to access your local listing.

Underneath the header you’ll see how many people viewed your business using a desktop and how many viewed it using their mobile device. Another insight you’ll be able to see is whether they used Google Search or Google Maps to find you.

Have a look at the update from the help document:

“A user can be counted a limited number of times if they visit your Business Profile on multiple devices and platforms such as desktop or mobile and Google Maps and Google Search. Per breakdown device and platform, a user can only be counted once a day. Multiple daily visits are not counted.”

Google went on to state that this metric indicates the number of users, which can be lower than the number of views you see on GMB and email notifications.

Be warned that since this metric focuses on views of the business profile and not the overall views of the business on Google, it may also be lower than the number of views you see on GMB and email notifications.
